I have read many stories which have give me positive motivation to face all my difficulties in my life. I always think that reading is not only help us to improve our vocabulary, it also give us motivation and inspiration on how we supposed to colour our life. Here i would like to share a true story about a monk who known as "Tang SanZang" or Xuanzang, a wise and learned scholar monk, to obtain Buddhist Sutras, who walked from China to India and from India back to China.
{When Xuanzang was a small monk, he was trained to do a lot of tasks in one day. Everyday he was commanded by his master to wake up early to wash clothes, prepare breakfast, buy rice, read and memorizes buddha's scriptures, prepare dinner, wash dishes, sweep and mop floors. He had been practiced to do all the tasks for 10 years.
One day, he was arranged to attend a talk with other monks to exchange their views about the Buddha's scripture. Through the discussion, he had the oppurtunity to exhange his life in this temple for 10 years. He was surprised that he was the busiest monk in this temple. He also discovered that none of the monk in this temple went out to buy a bag of rice using the narrow and uneven roads to walk to market except himself . They used the other roads which was huge and kinda straight roads to walk to the market. They stressed that these roads were faster to reach market than the raod that he used to walk.
Xuanzang went to see his master in the morning and he saw his master brought 2 little monks along. Then the master assigned these two little monks to do a task, which they needed to go to the market . One of the monk needed to use the long, narrow and uneven road to walk to the market to buy a packet of rice, wheareas, the other little monk needed to used the short, huge and straight road to walk to the market to buy a small packet of sugar.
After a while, the little monk who needed to buy a packet of rice and walk a long, narrow and uneven road came back earlier that the little monk who buy a small packet of sugar and walk a short, huge and straight road. After the both little monks have arrived, the master asked the monk who bought a packet of sugar, "What are you thinking while you were walking back to temple? The little monk said " Oh, while i was walking, i noticed the bird sang beautifully and the weather was nice today, so unconciously i have taken my time to enjoy this beautiful scenario". Then the master asked to the little monk who bought a packet of rice, "What are you thinking while you were walking back to temple?". The little monk said, "Oh, master. i have not time to noticed and enjoy how the bird sang beautifully, in my mind, i just wanted to complete my task and reach to temple as soon as possible as the rice was so heavy and roads were long and far.}
After listened to the story, what do you think the master wants to prove to Xuanzang by asking the two little monks to do the tasks? Why do you think so? What does this story inspired you? Express your point of view not less than 30 words.

Hello, from the story above i think that the master wanted to shown to Xuanzang about a lesson in life. The lesson is that in life there are no easy way. For example the two little monks, one of them took the shorter road but that road is fill with distraction while the other little monk took the long road which is far from the temple but it doesn't have any distraction thus the little monk can focus on his journey. This shows that if you decided to take the easy way you'll not concentrate on your goal but if you took the long road you'll be a successful later in your life.

in my opinion, based on the story, the master wants to prove to Xuanzang that we must first make every effort to complete a task.although there are short, huge and straight road to walk to the market, but in a way, there are a variety of beauty that will make him negligent.but if he use the long, narrow and uneven road to walk to the market,he will not have time to enjoy the scenary so he will try his best to complete his task and reach the temple as soon as possible. the moral values is we cannot be too engrossed in doing a task as this would delay the work. this story does inspired me and it teach me that don't get easily distracted when doing a task.try our best to complete the task even through the hard way.thank you

bismillah,
ReplyDeletefor me, many people equate discipline with harsh rules and punishments. When one thinks of discipline, it is always associated with schools, the army and prisons. Hence, it is a word that is greatly detested by the younger people. But this is a very narrow view of discipline.
From what I had read from the article and seen many friends of mine shows that discipline is necessary as long as we want to achieve our objectives. how many times have you needed to complete an assignment but found it hard to get down to it because there are many other distractions around you?
furthermore, discipline also helps you to manage your time efficiently. It makes you desire your commitments properly and helps you to objectively decide where your time should be spent.I hope I can be like the little monk perhaps.

from the story, above in my opinions, after I read the story, I think XuanZang teachers want to teach how to perform a task. we have to emulate the properties of existing purely on Xuanzang. in this life, we must know how to overcome the weaknesses in aspects of life, or any task assigned to us. if we do something do it with excellence, then we will get benefit from what we have done very well. From the moral values that we learned from this story, we can not be too engrossed in the task because this would delay the work. Base on the story, I gain a lot of moral values. Xuanzang's master has a lot of understandable reasons to train him like that.He has proven it to Xuanzang by asking the two little monks to do the task. And to me,I have learnt one of the most valuable moral value from the story."The good thing is hard to come by".If you want to be a successful person, you have to face the difficulties first.By facing the difficulties, you will learn how to avoid doing the mistakes and how to be a good man.The story also taught me to solve the problems patiently.Beside that,it also do reminding me about my main objective of life.

ReplyDeleteFor me, the master wants to tell Xuanzang that not all easy and beautiful things are good for us. Sometimes people have to face something difficult to gain a better product. As an example, a student has to do his duty by studying to have best results in their exam. Students who didn't face the difficulties in learning will never score. This is why people say the most precious moments in life will appears when a man gets what he wants after facing a lot of problems ad difficulties.

In my views, the longer and narrow road brings more peace of mind, it is proven as the monk even feels the nature along with it, it even provides a slow moving mentality, this proves the longer road broadens ones mentality wider, while the short and huge road corrupts the mentality and makes ones multitasking skills weak, it even trains ones mentality to always be in a hurry.

Honestly, the monk that travelled the longer road was more detailed in feeling his every steps of nature till he couldn't feel any burden, meanwhile the monk which used the short road completed his task insincerely and was in such a rush to reach the destination fast even knowing that reaching first will not make him gain or prove anything.

ReplyDeletein my opinion, the master would teach xuan zhang about the meaning of responsibility, discipline and focus on something we need to do. based on the story, it can be seen as little monk who uses the easy way out and close the need to purchase a packet of sugar more slowly compared to a monk who uses the remote and narrow path and need to buy rice. This occurs because as the monks are taking a little time to enjoy a wonderful time to hear the chirping of birds to cause him to be negligent of the responsibility. in case clearly shows that he is out of focus, lack of responsibility, and lack of discipline. while another monk who is always thinking about (focus) that he did not have time for a little heavy responsibilities.
ReplyDeleteBesides, we also see that not necessarily an easy path that is best for us and a difficult road it is something difficult. but the way it is more difficult to teach us the meaning of the focus and responsibility.

When he was on the way back to his master, he had no time to enjoy the environment along the road, So, he only focus on his task. What his master was trying to tell is, life is a like a road.Like the first road, long, narrow and uneven. Same as life. Life is full of of unexpected things and surprises.Life has ups and downs. We have to go thorough obstacles and difficulties before we achieve and get something we want. The first road sounded challenging because its narrow and uneven. Same goes to life. The journey of of life is not always straight, but we have to go through a lot of things which are ups and downs. We have to work hard in order to get what we want. Logically thinking, we must have think that road number two is way easier than first one because its straight road. Even the road is straight still have difficulties to go trough but not as much as road one. What I'm trying to say is, by facing a lot of obstacles and difficulties this can make someone becomes a stronger and matured person. This can be applied in study. A student has to go through many levels before he or her achieve a good result. Nothing is easy in this world, as long as you work ward to get what you want. Hello madam.
ReplyDeleteYes, this story inspired me a lot and it such a good story actually. In my opinion, the master wants to teach Xuanzang about life lesson such as discipline, focus, determination and also sincerity to face the reality of life. As stated in the story, he was trained to do a lot of task for 10 years and he has a lot of benefit rather than other monks. The master brought 2 little monks along to make Xuanzang realise that life is full of circumstances and the importance of discipline in our life. Normally we are easily get distract and careless when we are in comfort zone just like a little monk that used the large and short road. At last we are afraid to take a risk when we have to choose a hard way and we can’t ever make it. Meanwhile, focus and determination is also an important thing to overcome an obstacle in life because there are ups and downs, furthermore there is no shortcut to achieve something good in life. We have to put an effort to be success. No pain, no gain.

The story was really inspired me.In my opinion, the master has the good intentions and noble to Xuanzang. He taught the true meaning of life in this world to Xuanzang. Because life is full of challenges. Sometimes selected path is easy and sometimes difficult. Not necessarily an easy path that brings the desired result and sometimes the hard way will bring a satisfactory result as well as teach us the meaning of perseverance and patience, sincerity and high in the face. The hard way require our full commitment and focus. Sometimes a simple way to make us complacent, and complacency, and ultimately what is required can not be achieved successfully. So in this case, even with the difficult road to Xuanzang completed the assignment successfully thanks to the patience, commitment and full focus is given and after this, even the task are more difficult, he has no problem in it.

as a saying goes, Rom was not built in one day. so, in my opinion the master want to show that there is no easy way to archive something in life. in order to be someone who strong inside and outside the person must first go through a lot of difficulty and at the same will learn the lesson in the pain while the journey. so, at the end the person will find the sweet of hardship.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the value of the story, to be a reliable and would be regarded as a leader should be prepared for any challenge ahead, because to be a man who believed he was always ready for any situation. Preparation for being a leader is very important, to ensure that subordinates who follow him, feels strongly about the responsibilities undertaken by the leader. Thus, although life was hard but it is better than live easily without testing. Without a test, nothing in this world of spirit and effort to achieve a certain level for a better life and to be prepared even to live is difficult.

ReplyDeleteAfter read this whole story about this monk (Tan Sanzang Xuanzang) I think that this story got a good value for us. This story teach us that, we cannot take thing too easy in our life or else because we will not focus and cannot achieve whatever we are aiming for. However, if we are willingly can face the difficulties, focus and strive for it than we can reach our target. Likewise, it says 'no pain, no gain'.

Very impressed with the great and hard work by Xuanzang the persuit of ambition and a real dream to become a monk of great and famous. In my view, Xuanzang should be told how the meaning of life and hardships of two small monk. Master need to buy packages of rice and buy packages of sugar. In conclution, the two little monk should learn the meaning of life experiences by Xuanzang. This is because the life principle adopted by Xuanzang made me more resilient, more steadfast and determined to try and succeed. Admittedly it is not easy to be successful as a monk who need determination and passion to life. Xuanzang a good example and should be emulated for his effort over 10 years worth, and to think more mature and more knowledgeable of the area.

in my view that the monks are taught different ways to see the extent to which skills and passion to execute them in the state of a task. it was the best performance if they can complete the task successfully and completely. every success with the success must go through the journey and the twists and turns that have gone through prior to such success. hardships teach us to better work harder, so we do not easily discouraged in the future later.

Hello everyone. In my opinion, the master is a good leader because he wants to teach Xuanzang about challenges in our life. We always don't think carefully before doing something. So, I want to advise everybody that we should think carefully and rationally before we make decision to do something. Sometimes, we always have negative thinking in our life. So, I think this story very valuable and can give me more motivation and inspiration to success in my life.

The master wants to tell XuanZhang that there are 2 kinds of people in this world. The first one is the people who take things serious. It means they only focus on finish the job. Just like the monk who the master give a task to buy a huge packet of rice. The Monk said he have no time to noticed about the nature and he said he just wanted to complete the task. The Second one is the people who didn't take things serious, like the little monk. While doing his task, he enjoy the enviroment and nature. The conclusion is eventhough there are 2 ways to finish a job. I would recommend number 2. When you do something, dont forget to enjoy every momment.

What i think the Master did to XuanZhang was very smart. He could of told him directly the reason why, instead he took the trouble on asking two other monks to do chores, just so XuanZhang could get a better picture. Very wise. In the story, what it's trying to say is simple. Take life easy, you wont take yourself serious. Take life hard, you are practically unstoppable. The little monk who took the easy way and was ordered to just buy a pack of sugar, took advantage of the situation and got distracted by the surroundings. Therefore, he wasn't focused. Where as the other monk, realizes his situation, told himself that he had to get to the temple on time because he was carrying a bag of rice. Focus and determined. Realizing this, XuanZhang obeyed his master, and was known as the most dedicated and determined monk off all time. In conclusion, never take life easy, because it'll be harder in the future.

ReplyDeletefor me, many people equate discipline with harsh rules and punishments. When one thinks of discipline, it is always associated with schools, the army and prisons. Hence, it is a word that is greatly detested by the younger people. But this is a very narrow.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I had read from the article in my oppinion many friends of mine shows that discipline is necessary as long as we want to achieve our objectives.
furthermore, discipline also helps you to manage your time efficiently. It makes you desire your commitments properly and helps you to objectively decide where your time should be spent.

the master was to teach and prove that it is not easy to achieve. Efforts to succeed are always long and meaningful. we need to strive hard to achieve something we want. like the monk, he has to learn that, if there are any challenges in doing something, he must face challenges and get things done that perfectly.
